it's never ending ðŸ˜
I swear I wanna know how they eat so much.
Having kids home for summer break often means incessant trips to the kitchen for snacks or meals. It feels like no matter how much food you provide, they are always hungry and ready for more. From my experience, this endless hunger is not just about eating but also about staying active and burning energy during their long days off from school. What helps is planning snacks and meals ahead of time and involving kids in the process. When they participate in choosing or preparing food, they’re more satisfied and less likely to constantly ask for more. Also, incorporating nutritious options that are filling, like fruits, nuts, and yogurt, can help reduce the frequency of these food runs. Another insight is understanding that it’s partly a game of boredom and habit. Kids get used to grazing throughout the day when home, so setting designated snack times can help break that pattern. Even so, it’s important to be patient and remember that their high metabolic needs during summer will naturally make them eat more, and that’s perfectly normal.
