As you saw from my photo dump, I dove headfirst into the convention experience, cosplaying for all three days and soaking up every bit of the energy. If you're curious about making the most of your own cosplay convention experience, especially at an event like Animate, I've got some tips! First off, picking your cosplay is key. While it's tempting to go all out with intricate designs, comfort is king when you're walking around a convention hall all day. I always make sure my chosen outfit allows for easy movement and isn't too heavy, especially if I plan on doing multiple characters. Don't forget about your cosplay makeup! It’s amazing how a few key products can totally transform your look. I saw so many fantastic cosplays, from detailed RWBY characters to a super cool Spider-Man and even an adorable Umbreon kigurumi – it really shows the variety you can find. Navigating the con can be a marathon, not a sprint. My biggest tip? Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! And comfy shoes are a must, even if they're hidden under your costume. I loved seeing everyone pose for photos, especially on cool spots like the staircases. Don't be afraid to approach other cosplayers for a photo; everyone is usually super friendly and happy to share their passion. Remember to keep your "3 DAY" badge visible so you can easily access all the fun! Then there's the merch hunt! Oh my gosh, the Artist's Alley and vendor halls are a treasure trove. I usually do a quick pass-through on the first day to scope out what's available, then go back for my must-haves. I managed to score some amazing art prints, including some gorgeous Jujutsu Kaisen pieces, and of course, that hilarious "IS THAT SMUT?" bookmark. It’s always fun to find unique stickers, books, and other fan-made items that you can't get anywhere else. My advice is to set a budget, but also allow yourself a little wiggle room for those impulse buys that just speak to your soul. Carrying a reusable bag is a lifesaver for all your treasures! Overall, Animate 2025 was a fantastic experience, filled with creativity, community, and pure joy. Whether you're a seasoned cosplayer or just starting out, conventions like this are such a rewarding way to connect with fellow fans. I'm already counting down the days until next year, trying to decide which character I'll bring to life next!
