Weekday JB trip

Taking a weekday trip to Johor Bahru (JB) offers a unique chance to experience the city without the usual weekend crowds, but as I found out, some popular spots can still be surprisingly busy. For example, the long queue at Oriental Kopi caught me off guard, even on a weekday, proving how beloved their kaya toast and coffee are among locals and visitors alike. If you're planning a similar trip, I recommend arriving early to avoid the wait or considering alternative local cafes for breakfast. Getting to JB via the AC7 bus to Woodlands Checkpoint was a fresh experience for me. While the AC7 is a direct and efficient route, I noticed that the usual Woodlands/Kranji route might be more familiar and perhaps quicker depending on traffic and waiting times. It’s good to test out different routes to find what suits your schedule best. Exploring Mr DIY was a fun part of the trip, even though I didn't film it. It’s a great place to pick up useful travel items or souvenirs at affordable prices. After shopping, dining at Empire offered a delightful culinary experience with diverse options including sushi and local milk teas, like the one from Chagee, which paired well with my usual Da Hong Pao tea. Ending the day at Mid Valley shopping mall was a perfect choice to wind down and shop before heading back. If you plan a weekday JB trip, consider planning a mix of dining, shopping, and travel routes for an immersive and smooth experience.
