Hey, I’m Hillary and I’m a Mama Llama to the 4 amazing beings ♥️♥️ #gettoknowme #squadgoals #singlemom
Being a single mom to four amazing beings isn’t always easy, but let me tell you, it’s one of the most rewarding adventures I’ve ever embarked on. Many of you ask, 'Is Mama Llama really a single mom?' And the answer is a resounding YES! It’s my reality, my journey, and frankly, my superpower. When people hear 'single mom of four,' their eyes often widen. I get it. It sounds like a lot, and sometimes it truly is. There are days when I feel like I'm juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle on a tightrope, all while making sure everyone has socks that match and their homework is done. But through it all, there's an incredible amount of love, resilience, and pure joy that keeps me going. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of a solid routine. With four different personalities and schedules, structure is my best friend. From morning chaos management to bedtime stories, having a predictable flow helps us all stay sane. It’s not about being rigid, but about creating a framework where everyone knows what to expect, which surprisingly allows for more spontaneity and fun within those boundaries. Then there's the financial aspect. Being the sole provider for a family of five means being incredibly resourceful and smart about money. I’ve become a master budgeter, finding creative ways to stretch every dollar, from meal planning to hunting down the best deals on everything from clothes to school supplies. It’s taught me valuable life skills that I hope to pass on to my kids – the importance of hard work, saving, and making smart choices. But it’s not just about the practicalities. The emotional load can be heavy. There are moments when you wish you had someone to share the burden with, someone to celebrate small victories with, or just someone to vent to after a particularly challenging day. That’s why building a strong support system is non-negotiable. For me, it’s a mix of incredible friends, understanding family members, and online communities where I can connect with other single parents who 'get it.' Knowing you’re not alone makes all the difference. Self-care, while often feeling like a luxury, is absolutely essential. Even if it’s just 15 minutes of quiet time with a cup of tea after the kids are in bed, or a quick walk around the block, those small moments recharge my battery. I’ve learned that a burnt-out mom isn’t good for anyone, so I prioritize these little pockets of peace. My kids are my greatest motivators. They see my hustle, my love, and my dedication. I hope I’m teaching them that strength comes in many forms, that it’s okay to ask for help, and that love can conquer anything. Being a single mom isn't a deficit; it's a different kind of family structure, one filled with unique bonds and immense love. We are a team, a fierce little squad in our own right. And honestly? I wouldn't trade it for the world. It’s tough, it’s messy, but it’s beautifully ours.
