How I care for my designer bags 🫧

As someone with 30 over bags in her collection… I get asked a lot 1. Do I display my bags? 2. how do I care/store them?

I simply put all of them in their respective dust bags and routinely care for them where necessary 😗 here are the things I do to keep them in pristine condition, no mould or wtv in sg’s humid weather

1. Dehumidify the room (either ac or external dehumidifier)

2. Ensure the bags that need a shaper, gets a shaper. I get my high quality ones from Bag Bone

3. Slot an insert for slouchy bags to slow down softening or slouching over time

4. I use Coach leather cleaner and Wren’s textile protectors routinely (eg. Waterproofing spray)

5. Store them properly while travelling! I use Bag Bone’s magic microfibre for all my bags. It saves space while traveling while protecting my bags from any scratches 💞

One essential part of my routine is using high-quality dehumidifiers or air conditioning to reduce moisture, which helps prevent mold and leather deterioration. Using Bag Bone shapers and inserts is a game changer — they maintain the bag's shape and slow down softening, especially for slouchy styles. This practice is particularly useful for preserving the form of expensive pieces such as Louis Vuitton totes or Noé bags. Conditioning leather regularly is also vital. For example, I use Coach leather cleaner to keep the leather supple and Wren’s textile protectors for waterproofing. Conditioning every few months can prevent cracking and fading, crucial in humid weather where moisture can accelerate wear. When traveling, I rely on Bag Bone’s magic microfiber pouches that not only save space but protect my bags from scratches and dust. Proper storage, like keeping bags in their dust bags and away from direct sunlight, further protects them from damage. I also recommend avoiding overfilling bags to reduce strain on seams and leather, which helps maintain durability. Regularly rotate your collection so no single bag endures prolonged exposure to environmental factors. By combining these methods, you can keep your luxury bags looking timeless and protect your investment, no matter the climate challenges.
