Gion Matsuri Festival
In July, Japan will be a festival. Today, we will see one of the three major Japanese festivals, "Gion Matsuri, Kyoto," that we had the opportunity to go to last year.
It is a celebration of the Yasaka Shrine and a dispel of bad things. In the city, there will be a Yamaboko parade in the morning.
And the evening will be a parade to invite the gods out of the shrine, divided into two days: Saki Matsuri, who invited you out.
And on July 24, you are invited back to the shrine.
On the first day, July 17, there will be 23 Yamaboko parades, very impressive and very excited.
We watched from the start of the sacred playoffs at the intersection of Shijo-dori Road before the start of the first car. Look to the last car. I liked it so much that I followed the convoy. 😂
The car will use a dragger and people will be excited to clap a lot every time they reach the intersection because they have to be gradually placed on the water and then simultaneously pull one by one for the car to spin and win together.
We will hear ancient music from the convoy, and if anyone goes to Japan lately, it will be heard everywhere.
Before the day of the parade, a car is set up and adorned with a stall shop to walk and taste food. It is a night event (Yoi-yama), July 14-16 and July 21-23.
We missed it because we got to the 16th and understood there was another day of work, so I took a break. 😅
And the evening that paraded you out of the shrine was fun right now, but we got out of the school too late, and we only saw the last procession that left. Fortunately, we stopped by the three gods in the shrine in the afternoon before parading around the city.

If anyone is interested in watching, it is recommended to stay around Gion so you can walk a short distance.
And recommend rushing to catch the reservation in the morning, because if the ceremony is near (9: 00)
The road from the front of Yasaka Shrine will be blocked from walking into the entire line. If anyone goes late, have to find a walkway to see the other way instead. This job is very crowded.
