Dustard :3

... Read moreHey everyone! I’ve been diving deep into the world of Undertale AUs lately, and it's just mind-blowing how creative the fandom is. There are so many incredible alternate universes out there, each with its own unique story, character twists, and often, a much darker tone than the original game. It's like an endless well of inspiration for artists and storytellers! One of the AUs that really stands out to me, and which my recent 'Dustard' artwork touches upon, is Dusttale. If you're unfamiliar, Dusttale typically portrays Sans after he's gone mad, killing everyone in the Underground, including his own brother, to gain enough EXP and LV to stop the human. It's a really chilling concept, exploring the depths of despair and the consequences of a genocide run taken to its extreme. The characters often feature a more menacing look, like the 'skeleton-like figure with a red scarf and purple coat' that you might see in my drawing, reflecting their shattered psyche. Creating fan art for these AUs is such a rewarding experience. It's not just about drawing a character; it's about interpreting their story, their emotions, and bringing a piece of that alternate reality to life. For my 'Dustard' piece, I really wanted to convey that raw, angry energy. The scene I imagined, with the skeleton-like figure angrily saying, 'He ashy NO fickles!' to a hooded figure with blue glowing eyes, was all about capturing a moment of intense confrontation. It makes you wonder about the backstory, doesn't it? What led to that moment? Who is the hooded figure? These are the questions that make AU fan art so engaging. I've found that these darker AUs, while intense, offer a different kind of emotional depth. They allow artists and fans to explore themes of vengeance, sacrifice, and twisted justice in a way the original game only hinted at. It’s fascinating to see how a beloved character like Sans can be reimagined in so many compelling and sometimes heartbreaking ways. If you're looking to explore more Undertale AUs, I highly recommend checking out Dusttale, Horrortale, or Underfell. Each offers a unique spin on the familiar world of Undertale, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and character development. What are your thoughts on Undertale AUs? Do you have any favorite fan creations or interpretations of characters like Dustard? I'd love to hear about your experiences and discoveries in this incredibly imaginative corner of the fandom!
