(4/16/24) I’ve realized rather recently that I actually, am, quite an anxious person. and I’ve felt this forever, an uncomfortable restlessness. like growing pains that would have me kicking and writhing under my mother’s sheets.

it’s funny, its like, l’ll be having a perfectly fine time just doing whatever but then it’s as if I’m, I dunno, just sort of drowned or consumed by all of these things that are too much. anyways!

It’s essential to understand that anxiety can result from past experiences, leading to profound changes in how one interacts with the world. Techniques such as mindfulness and grounding exercises can help alleviate these feelings. Practicing self-compassion and connecting with supportive communities may also provide a critical lifeline. Journaling can serve as an expressive outlet, allowing thoughts and emotions to be articulated in a safe space. Furthermore, therapy can be a beneficial resource, helping individuals navigate their feelings with professional guidance and support. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of oneself, paving the way for healthier coping mechanisms and a more fulfilling life despite the challenges that anxiety presents. Engaging with creative outlets, such as poetry and art, can also provide therapeutic relief, offering a voice to unexpressed emotions. Finding comfort in nature, embracing quiet moments alone, or even seeking the company of trusted friends can contribute significantly to one's mental well-being. Recognizing that it’s okay to seek solitude and that everyone experiences some form of anxiety can serve as a reminder that you’re not alone in this journey.
