These tips can help you save a ton!
They say “traveling is the only thing you spend money on that makes you richer” and that is so true! That said, doesn’t mean we can’t save some cash here and there! These tips will help you do just that:
- Stay in hostels! Don’t believe the horror stories, people! Hostels are so awesome and I’ve met the most amazing people staying in hostels. You’re gonna be out exploring, so what’s the point in spending so much for a place to lay your head? They’re safe and if you do want your own privacy, many hostels have private rooms available.
- Cook some meals! This obviously only works if you have a kitchen at your disposal (hostel or airbnb), but it can save you a ton of money! Plus, going to grocery stores in different countries is such a fun experience!
- Go on walking tours! Hear me out. Learn about the city you’re in, all while making friends with your tour guide who can give you all the tips! They can let you know what they think is worth the money and give some tips on what to do and where to eat that can save you from tourist traps.

Travel doesn't have to be expensive. One effective way to manage your budget while exploring new destinations is by staying in hostels. Hostels provide affordable accommodation and often foster a vibrant community. You can choose between shared dorms or private rooms, depending on your comfort level. Additionally, by cooking your meals in hostels or rentals with kitchens, you can save a ton of money compared to dining out every day. Don't forget to explore local grocery stores; this not only helps your wallet but also immerses you in the local culture. Participating in free walking tours can also enrich your travel experience. These tours are typically led by locals, offering insightful views and tips about the city, while providing a chance to meet fellow travelers. They can guide you to hidden gems and help you avoid pricey tourist traps. Always remember to ask for their recommendations for affordable eateries and fun activities. Lastly, don’t hesitate to reach out to fellow travelers or locals for more budget tips. With a little planning and resourcefulness, you can embark on unforgettable adventures without overspending!
