Appenzell - Sweet sweet Switzerland! I love you and you can be so expensive, but I’m so glad I found Appenzell! Accommodations are much cheaper in this small town compared to places like Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. While food and accommodations might still break the bank a bit, the hiking trails are mostly free and make for an incredible week of adventure. Appenzell is also only 2 hours away from Zurich, so hop on that train and make your way! You won’t regret it, I promise!
