... Read moreI've been on a journey lately where I've really had to unpack the phrase "everything happens for a reason." Itโ€™s easy to say when things are going well, but when life throws you a curveball, it can feel impossible to believe. That's when I recall profound wisdom, like the idea that sometimes, we need to be made uncomfortable to truly move forward. Itโ€™s almost as if a higher power is nudging us, saying, "I'm sorry, but I had to make you uncomfortable, otherwise you would have never moved." Think about those moments when you felt completely lost or when a door slammed shut in your face. For me, there was a time I was so set on a particular career path. I poured my heart and soul into it, only for it to fall apart unexpectedly. I was devastated, truly uncomfortable, and questioned everything. Why me? Why now? It felt like the universe was against me. But looking back, that deeply uncomfortable period forced me to re-evaluate my priorities, my strengths, and what truly made me happy. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and into a new field I never would have considered otherwise. This new path has brought me so much more fulfillment and purpose than my original plan ever could have. It wasn't easy, though. Trusting that "everything happens for a reason" in the thick of discomfort requires immense faith. During those challenging times, I found a few things helped me: Journaling: Writing down my feelings, frustrations, and even my anger helped me process them. It allowed me to see patterns and eventually, glimmers of hope. Seeking Support: Talking to trusted friends or family, or even a mentor, reminded me I wasn't alone. Sometimes just hearing "I've been there" can make a huge difference. Mindfulness & Prayer: Taking moments to just breathe, be present, and connect spiritually. For me, this involved prayer and reflecting on God's plan, reminding myself that there's a bigger picture. Small Steps Forward: When the big picture felt overwhelming, I focused on tiny, manageable actions. Even if it was just researching one new skill or sending out one application, these small "moves" built momentum. This perspective shift โ€” understanding that discomfort isn't a punishment but often a necessary push for growth โ€” has been life-changing. It doesn't mean we don't feel the pain, but it allows us to look for the lesson, the opportunity, and the new direction. Itโ€™s about embracing the unknown, even when it feels scary, and believing that on the other side of that discomfort lies your true purpose and a stronger, more resilient you. So next time life makes you uncomfortable, ask yourself: what is this trying to teach me? What new path is opening up because of this? Trust the process, trust your journey, and know that you are always moving towards what's meant for you.
