I got to be a hair model!

Finally got a much needed haircut thanks to my stylist asking me to be a hair model for the class she was teaching. Eventually I’ll get a dye job to but that’ll have to wait till I’m able to find a job 😭😭😭

Curly hair often requires extra care and specific techniques, so having a professional stylist work on my hair during a class was both educational and rewarding. During the session, I learned the importance of proper haircuts for curly hair to enhance natural volume and shape rather than cutting it like straight hair. The stylist applied precise cutting methods, such as dry cutting and layering, which helped my curls spring up beautifully and look refreshed. I also realized how valuable professional advice is when it comes to maintaining curly hairstyles daily. Using lightweight, hydrating products and avoiding heavy silicones can keep curls bouncy and reduce frizz. Techniques like diffusing with a blow dryer or air drying with a microfiber towel can preserve curl patterns. Although I’m currently waiting to get a dye job done once I secure a job, being a model motivated me to consider new hair colors that complement my skin tone and enhance my curls. Coloring curly hair requires attention to moisture and care post-dye to prevent damage, so planning ahead is key. For anyone with curly hair thinking about becoming a hair model, I strongly recommend it! It’s a chance to receive professional care, learn about your hair type, and try new styles without the usual cost. Plus, you get to support stylists honing their skills, creating a win-win situation. This experience also reminded me how important self-care is, especially when balancing job hunting and personal goals. Treating yourself to something like a fresh haircut can boost confidence and motivation. If you have the chance, embrace being a hair model – it’s worth it!
