Power-building leg workout

What is power-building?

Power-building refers to a style of training that combines powerlifting and bodybuilding. Powerlifting focuses on getting stronger in 3 main movements: deadlifts, squats, & bench press. Bodybuilding focuses on gaining muscle in an aesthetic way.

By combining the two, you get stronger in the 3 main movements AND look aesthetic. This is my preferred way to train and it has made me SO STRONG while growing my glutes and legs.

Here is one of my go-to leg workouts for power-building⬇️

1. Deadlifts 3 x 3-5 reps

2. Hack squats 3 x 8-12 reps

3. Machine hip thrusts 3 x10-15 reps

4. Smith machine bulgarian split squats 3 x 10-12 reps

5. Reverse hyper extensions 3 x 15-20 reps

We start off strong with heavy deadlifts (for powerlifting) then move into more machine & accessory work for building our legs and glutes. Give this style of training a try and let me know what you think!💪🏼

By focusing on core lifts like deadlifts, squats, and bench presses, athletes can significantly enhance their strength in these foundational movements. These exercises not only build raw strength but also allow for muscle growth, resulting in a more aesthetic appearance. Incorporating accessory movements into the workout, such as machine hip thrusts and Bulgarian split squats, targets specific muscle groups, particularly the glutes, contributing to overall leg development. Moreover, this comprehensive approach appeals to trainees seeking goals in both strength and aesthetics, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded routine. As you embrace this training style, remember to prioritize form and progressive overload to avoid injuries and maximize gains. Consider tracking your progress weekly, adjusting reps, sets, and weights accordingly, and don't hesitate to seek guidance from a coach or experienced lifter for optimal results. Start your power-building journey today, and witness the transformation in strength and muscle definition!
