Workout split for fat loss 💕
My 7-day workout split for fat loss!
Day 1 & 4: lower body
This workout split includes two lower body sessions per week! Focus on doing squats, hip thrusts, RDL’s, glute kickbacks, reverse hyperextension, deadlifts, etc. to gain the most muscle! I recommend doing the SAME workout for a month on the lower body days & then changing it.
Sample workout:
1. Squats 3 x 6-12 reps
2. Hip thrusts 3 x 8-15 reps
3. RDL’s 3 x 10-12 reps
4. Smith machine bulgarian split squats 3 x 12-15
5. Glute kickbacks 3 x 15
Day 2 & 5: upper body
Upper body days consist of training your back, shoulders, chest, & arms! Depending on your goals, you can split this into a “push day” and a “pull day” or do two overall upper body workouts. I do an overall upper body workout twice a week. Just like with lower body workouts, I recommend keeping it the same for a month & focus on getting stronger every workout.
Sample workout:
1. Barbell rows 3 x 8
2. Shoulder press 3 x 8-12
3. Chin ups 3 x failure
4. Dumbbell chest press 3 x 12
5. Lateral raises 3 x 15
Day 3, 6, 7: cardio + core workouts (option for a rest day too)
x2-3/week include a cardio and core day! This can be whatever cardio you like. My favorite is the Stairmaster or walking. Do anywhere from 20-45 minutes of cardio on this day and end with 10-15 minutes of core!
Sample workout:
30 minutes of the Stairmaster
15 minutes of a core workout

Hey fitness fam! So many of you have asked about my journey to fat loss, and honestly, a consistent and well-planned workout split has been my absolute game-changer. While the routine I shared is super effective, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how to maximize your fat loss results and keep that motivation burning. First off, this 7-day workout split isn't just about moving your body; it's about strategic movement. My two lower body days, packed with exercises like squats (whether free weights or on a Smith machine), deadlifts, and RDLs, are crucial for building muscle. More muscle means a higher resting metabolism, which is prime for burning fat even when you're not in the gym! Those upper body days are equally important for overall strength and a balanced physique. And let's not forget those cardio + core days – whether it's crushing it on the LifeFitness treadmill, rocking the Stairmaster, or taking a brisk walk, consistent cardio is key for calorie expenditure and heart health. Now, here’s the real talk: A workout split for fat loss is only half the equation. Nutrition plays a massive role. You simply can't out-train a poor diet. To truly see results, you need to be in a calorie deficit, meaning you're consuming fewer calories than you burn. I know, it sounds daunting, but it's simpler than you think! Focus on whole foods, lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of veggies. Tracking your food intake for a few weeks can be incredibly insightful to understand your habits and make sustainable changes. Don't feel like you have to be perfect, but being mindful makes a huge difference. Another secret weapon for progress is progressive overload. This just means consistently challenging your muscles. If you're doing 3 sets of 10 reps with a certain weight for your lower body exercises like hip thrusts or glute kickbacks, next week try to increase the weight slightly, or do one more rep, or even slow down the tempo. This constant challenge is what forces your body to adapt, get stronger, and build that lean muscle mass. Don't be afraid to push yourself! Rest and recovery are also non-negotiable. Those designated cardio + core days, with the option for a full rest day, are there for a reason. Your muscles grow and repair when you're resting, not when you're working out. Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep, and consider active recovery like stretching or light walking on your rest days. Finally, keep yourself motivated! Take those mirror selfies to track your physique changes – sometimes the scale doesn't tell the whole story. Seeing your progress, even small changes in your workout outfit, can be a huge boost. Find a workout buddy, listen to your favorite music, or try new exercises to keep things exciting. Remember, this is a journey, not a race. Stay consistent, trust the process, and you’ll definitely achieve your fat loss goals!
