"Secret Believer"
John 7:4-6 NASB2020
[4] For no one does anything in secret when he himself is striving to be known publicly. If You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.”
Am I a "secret" Jesus Believer? Too new? Too introverted? Too drastically different from those I used to be friends with? Or share a dinner table with?
Jesus desires a relationship and says
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. "
"My first concern about being a believer was the fact that somehow, someday I would be called upon to testify, or to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey God's commands... The Great Commision and all that goes into that."
"I justified not doing it with every argument I could conjure up, probably even some of what Satan was whispering to me as well!
John 7.6
[6] So Jesus *said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always ready.
"The Lord is the one who determines when and when not to reveal Himself and to what degree. The more I studied His word, the more He revealed to me how sharing His word was not something to be dreaded, but that it was actually liberating! Just knowing that I was hearing Him speak through the Holy Bible was Awe inspiring in itself.
Having the faith to step into your calling is all it takes for Jesus to help you begin! As He mentions above... Our time is always ready!
Father, I love You and need You in every way! I surrender myself to You. Bend me to Your will, teach me the things I must know and help me hear Your voice above all others. Father, You know my mind better than I know it myself, I ask that You use Your words, and my mind to create an avenue for spreading Your message around the globe. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Being a 'secret believer' is a struggle many face, often rooted in fear and self-doubt.
