"Go tell"
John 11:6 NIV
"So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days."
Jesus was about to perform a sign. A miracle in the eyes of those watching. He would perform a resurrection! But first, to exemplify His works, He wanted everyone to know that Lazarus was dead! As in "Something smells bad," Dead!
"Perhaps there's a miracle in your testimony? But is it enough to impact a skeptic?"
Overcoming objections while speaking of the gospel requires a blend of knowledge, skill, and a genuine 'love' for others. Conversations must be respectful, empathathic, with a non wavering reliance on God. You start faithfully, and the Spirit will follow.
* Luke 12:11-12 NIV
[11] “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, [12] for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
* John 16:13 NIV
[13] But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.
Heavenly Father, You have created me for Your good works and to bring You glory. You did not create in me a spirit of fear. I ask that through Your Spirit, You guide me where you want me to be. As a believer, I have become Your sounding board, a living testament to Your mercy and grace... As Paul said, "I have become an imitator of Your saints." Lord, help me do that which I was created for. In Jesus' name, Amen.
In life, each of us may encounter moments that challenge our faith and beliefs, raising questions about our ability to share the gospel effectively. Jesus’ actions regarding Lazarus serve as a powerful reminder: sometimes, miracles are not only about immediate resolution but also about establishing the context for God’s glory to shine through. When Jesus delayed His visit, He emphasized that Lazarus’s death would magnify the miracle of resurrection, showing that even in despair, hope is possible. Engaging with skeptics requires a thoughtful approach grounded in love and understanding. It’s vital to listen, empathize, and respond with insights drawn not just from scripture but personal experience and the leading of the Holy Spirit. The verses from John 16:13 remind us that the Spirit will guide us in all truth, equipping us to articulate our faith authentically and impactfully. In today's world, where cynicism can overshadow belief, sharing miracles—whether your own or Biblical accounts—can ignite curiosity and contemplation. Yet, testimony must be relatable and rooted in genuine conviction, demonstrating that God’s presence is as real today as it was in biblical times. Through respectful dialogue and a reliance on the Spirit, believers can navigate discussions with grace and wisdom, ultimately inviting others to explore the depths of faith.
