Question?
What is that quick, involuntary movement,
that chilling recoil of our body's response to something suddenly realized or something surprising, maybe even threatening?

"When we see injustices, why do we flinch?"
'Injustice' is a multifaceted experience. It evokes a wide range of emotions and physiological responses, all deeply rooted in our God given DNA and shaped by our environments.
So, "Picture in your mind an injustice..."
Did your muscles contract in anticipation of harm? Did you freeze and raise your shoulders bracing in defense? Did your heart skip a beat?
Then, because injustice and fear are closely intertwined, can all of those reflexes be an exasperated 'call out' for compassion?
Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit".
When we see injustice, invite Jesus to be in the middle, 🙏.

Anger can be a powerful catalyst for peaceful action when properly focused! It can also be a motivator to raising awareness if you can turn away from the negativity.
1 Peter 2:23:
"When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly,".
Injustice and anger? Jesus has experienced both! 🙌
Or did you feel compassion? Jesus' ministry was characterized by deep compassion, especially for the marginalized and those suffering from injustice.
Matthew 25:40
Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” .
His actions and teachings consistently reflected God's heart for righteousness and love. ❤️
What about us? Do ours?
Instead of focusing on anger, fear, or a desire for retribution, Scripture emphasizes trusting in God's justice and actively seeking to do good in the face of injustice.
Heavenly Father Thank you for teaching me that compassion can be mine, but anger and vengeance are yours! Your justice and righteousness are above all and will never fail! In Jesus' name, Amen.
