In the deep of your sorrow, on days when you're heartbroken, it feels like you're being drowned by a raging sea.
Wave after wave of grief, betrayal, disappointment, or loneliness sweeps over you, the undertow is at hand.
This is the "deep" of your sorrow...
Your bottomless pit of despair.
It's times like these, where it's easy to believe that no one understands. You're forgotten by the world, wondering if God has forgotten you as well?
But it's precisely the moment, in this lowest of low, that the deep of God's love becomes a beautiful truth.
He is not distant, watching your struggle from afar; He is with you in the waters.
He draws near to those who feel broken, and His presence itself begins the work of healing and restoration.
You surrender your pain to Him, and that becomes the very thing that ushers you into a deeper, more intimate relationship with the One who saved you.
The Lord sees every tear you cry and bottles them, not one is lost.
Heavenly Father, we bring our broken hearts to You. The waves of our sorrow feel overwhelming, and we confess that we feel crushed. Thank You that in our deepest pain, You are not far away but are incredibly near. Let the deep of our needs call out to the deep of Your love. Comfort us, heal us, and use this season to draw us closer to You. Help us to hope in You again, knowing that You are our Savior and our God. Amen.
