"Hey brother can you spare a dime?"
In this verse, God is reaffirming His promise to give Abram and his descendants the entire land, inviting Abram to explore and claim his inheritance.
It's foreshadowing his future possession and his faith in God's covenant.
Genesis 13.17
"Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”
God is saying, "Look as far as you can see in any direction, it's all yours! Do with what you will. Take it all you're going to need it...
I'm it's rightful owner and I giving it all to you! Now go out there and walk around around, see what you can find. I don't break promises and this transaction is as legal as it gets!"
Now I'm imagining what "that" would feel like... 'Privileged, authoritative, free, blessed, protected, creative, full of ideas and wonder. What could stop you?'
"When we are walking obediently, aligned with God's will and led by the Holy Spirit, that is what the life of a believer is." "Bringing glory to God and magnifying His Kingdom is the only prerequisite. The Kingdom is His and the end result is your's... Your inheritance."
What would life look like through that lens?
So many people, friends and family, I've seen go down in flames that had the same mindset as Lot. Lot's choice was based on sight, wealth, and earthly prosperity.
Same dreams, same selfish motivation... Will we ever learn? Lord help us be driven by love and goodwill and not fooled by the lure of easy money....

This verse cautions believers against the temptation to value material wealth over spiritual riches. Just as Lot’s choice in the scriptures was based on visible prosperity and earthly gains rather than faithfulness to God's promises, many today risk losing their way by chasing easy money or worldly success. Living through the lens of God’s promise means prioritizing love, goodwill, and the glory of God over selfish ambition and greed. It means trusting in God's covenant and recognizing that true wealth is found in faith and obedience rather than possessions. This mindset empowers believers to face challenges confidently, knowing that their inheritance is secured through God’s unbreakable promises. Embracing this perspective transforms everyday decisions and relationships. It calls for a shift from short-term gains to eternal values, encouraging believers to be generous, ethical, and spiritually aligned. Ultimately, walking in this way brings peace and fulfillment, reflecting the Kingdom of God here on earth. Therefore, let us take to heart the lessons from Abram’s story and Timothy’s warning. May we be led by love instead of greed, and by faith rather than sight, trusting that God’s promise is legal, sure, and abundant. By doing so, we honor God, strengthen our spiritual journey, and claim the full inheritance intended for us.
