2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
An appropriate verse for the beginning of a new year. So why not start from the beginning!
As in now, today, all the clutter that the old creation is leaving behind, needs to be prioritized and put into order, separated and tossed...
All the half messages here and reminders there, all the grand ideas and thoughts that one day were going to materialize, somehow effortlessly?
These ideas, though valuable in their time, now clutter the path. They served their purpose in bringing you here, but they must be swept aside now to make way for the new.
They were just unknowingly bypassed by better, more effective ideas. So move along and get rid of them.
When you're running on fumes, tomorrow's goals don't need to be built from yesterday's ideas anyway. And if the tank is full, turn the page!
Remember? New creation has come... so today is the day to make room for it!
What kind of space are you going to give yourself to work with? You've got to lay the foundation early, additions added on later always look like and act like additions...
After thoughts, never flowing quite right, always requiring an extra step to include them.
The oops, 'I forgot that one', or the 'but what about this? I need to bring that one along too'!
Those are the things that started all the clutter in the first place.
Not sure how much room you need?
That question alone will bury you...
How about start with all of it!
Lay it out on solid rock, and don't put boundaries on it. The space you need is only limited by your imagination. And as a new creation you're limited only to Jesus' imagination...which is unlimited!
Find a purpose. Don't get bogged down by 'What is my purpose?' That one will bury you in clutter as well...
"Find something, anything, and start doing it, giving it your best effort. It's in that act of doing that God begins to move you onto broader horizons, sharpening your focus and building momentum."
It's in that 'doing' that communication begins, that good habits are formed, where obedience is learned and iron is sharpened. Challenges make you stronger!
"Seek the Kingdom" There's nowhere that you can go that God isn't or shouldn't be, it's all His, so ask Him how you can improve it! Amen?
