"Guard of my own prison"

It’s not about physical death but about dying to our pride, ego, and the comforts the world offers. Having wrestled with my own limitations and analogs trapped in the mind, I’ve seen how easy it is to become the guard of one’s own prison, held captive by fear, doubts, and worldly distractions. The stark imagery of being 'more pig than prophet' when choosing contentment with worldly slop vividly highlights the internal conflict many face. It’s a call to examine what truly satisfies the soul—temporary pleasures or the eternal peace found in Christ. What resonates deeply with me is the realization that no wealth, power, or status can redeem a soul lost to pride. This gilded cage is heavier than any physical chain. But surrendering to Jesus, knocking on the door to be One with God, offers a new and clearer path. It requires humility and faith that the Holy Spirit will reveal divine truths beyond human understanding, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 2:9. Personal experience has taught me that spiritual growth comes from repeatedly choosing to submit to Jesus as the way, the truth, and the light. This journey is not always easy—often filled with internal arguments and doubts—but it’s where genuine freedom begins. Prayers of repentance and requests for guidance, like the author’s, demonstrate a heartfelt surrender that invites transformation. In walking this path, I find peace in knowing that true life is found not in saving ourselves but in trusting God’s plan and embracing the paradox of losing to gain more than we could imagine.
