"The bandwagon"

"Heavenly Father, God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food..."
We sit down to eat, sometimes in the company of people with whom we are not real familiar. Maybe we say grace? Maybe we always do, or maybe it never crosses our minds?
I woke up this morning with this verse speaking to me: “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him” (Lamentations 3:25).
Is it possible to wait for a God whom you believe to exist but have never encountered? And if so, how exactly does your soul seek Him? Is He just a good idea, or a bandwagon to jump on?
God declares His existence to everything. All of natural creation is a testament to His goodness. Romans 1:20 says, “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and everything else God made, they can clearly see His invisible qualities...”
By observing the physical world, we see His wisdom and intelligence through His skillful design. How does biochemistry know how to operate? How does it know how and when to make blood clot? Look at our eye structure—with its iris, lens, and retina—how does it all come together to create our vision?
By observing the beauty and complexity of nature, we see His intelligence and His character. DNA, with its complexities, is like a digital information storage system. It puts precise order in place to build living organisms. That does not suggest randomness or chance.
Patterns found in snowflakes, ferns, coastlines, or even the inside of a celery stalk show mathematical precision and a beauty that repeats itself in different sizes and scales.
All these things are evidence of a Creator. These and many more are visible everywhere, giving us no valid reason for denying or not knowing God.
Psalm 19:1-4: "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge."
Job 12:7: "Just ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds of the sky, and they will tell you. They know about God’s hand in creation."
Acts 14:17: "He has not left himself without testimony. He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."
All of these attributes come from One God. He has created everything good for you to experience His wonder... to long to know why they are here, how it and you came into existence, and what your ultimate purpose is. But most of all, He wants you to seek the only God capable of creating this all to begin with!
So, He is not looking for a, "Oh hey God, Thanks for this meal!" The meal is there because He wants you to ask, "Hello God who created me, I am knocking at Your door, will You answer?"
He wants you to know Him the way you don't think you can... the way that reaches past the feeling of, “if I haven’t by now, it’s not meant to be.”
He wants you to be aware that there is a Love out there that is indescribable. He wants you to ask Him to pour the kind of love out upon you that you never even knew existed.
He wants you to know that it is never too late, and there is nothing so bad that can prevent you from finding out who it is that created you.
So, just ask yourself: Do I want to experience that kind of love? Do I want to with my family? For now and forever? And if so, is that the God I am thanking for this delicious meal? Or do I need to find the right door to knock on?

"You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart."

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
"Father, nothing is to difficult for You, so we ask but one simple request. Reveal Yourself and draw us near in ways that we have never imagined... when we leave here tonight Lord, speak to us in the silence, and fill the empty voids that only You can know about. Reach out to us in ways so profound that our thirst for You seems unquenchable... in Jesus' name we ask, Amen."
In my personal experience, the process of seeking God is never a straightforward path but rather a deeply personal and evolving journey. Many of us start with small steps—perhaps saying grace before meals without fully contemplating its significance. Over time, as I reflected on the verse from Lamentations 3:25, ‘The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him,’ I realized that patience and sincere longing are essential in this spiritual quest. The complexity and order found in nature, such as the intricate design of DNA and the flawless function of our eyes, have always struck me as profound evidence of a higher intelligence. These patterns reassure me that God’s presence is woven into all creation, inviting us to recognize His handiwork daily. It’s not just about accepting God as an abstract idea or following traditions superficially but genuinely knocking on the door of faith and awaiting a response. At times, doubt can creep in—wondering whether this pursuit is just a bandwagon or a meaningful relationship. From my perspective, the key difference is intention. When you seek God with your whole heart, as Jeremiah 29:13 encourages, you open yourself to profound transformation and peace. God’s love is described as indescribable, not limited by past mistakes or time. It is accessible to anyone willing to pursue it sincerely. Incorporating prayer into daily life, especially prayers asking for God’s presence and love, has helped me experience a deeper connection. This connection fills voids that nothing else can, turning moments of silence into powerful encounters with the divine. For families and individuals alike, embracing this seeking posture enriches life with meaning and joy beyond the routine. Ultimately, waiting for God and seeking Him is less about following a trend and more about inviting a life-changing relationship that promises comfort, guidance, and an unquenchable spiritual thirst. I encourage anyone pondering these questions to courageously knock on that door and discover the depths of love and purpose that await.
