"The Distant Doorway: A Plea for His Will"

Good morning VOD 🕊

Psalm 143:10

"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!"

Lord , I see a crack of light shing through a distant doorway. Is it a Divine pathway? An opportunity to be had that should not be overlooked? An invitation into a broader realm of thinking, with Kingdom rewards to be had? Will it's cause, be Your solution, to a purpose for Your will?

Or is it but a flicker if light, representing a desire I may have had long ago? A taunting memory unwilling to let go?

Is decernment the quota I should be desiring to fill? I plea as I wonder Lord... Will You show me Your will? When this opportunity knocks should the doorway be opened?

... Read moreWhen contemplating God's will, I have found that discernment often comes not in grand revelations but in subtle moments of clarity—a crack of light through a distant doorway, much like the imagery shared here. In my personal spiritual walk, I’ve learned that patiently seeking God’s guidance through prayer and meditation allows me to better understand when an opportunity is truly a divinely appointed pathway rather than just a flicker of past desire. Psalm 143:10, cited here, beautifully reminds us to ask God not only to reveal His will but also to lead us on "level ground." This speaks to the importance of spiritual stability and peace in decision-making. When I face uncertainty or a pivotal moment, I meditate on this verse, allowing it to center my thoughts and calm my heart. Discernment, as the content suggests, isn't merely wishing for clarity but is an active pursuit—asking God to fill us with His Spirit and to reveal whether a doorway should be opened or remain closed. In my experience, consulting scripture alongside prayer, and seeking counsel from faith communities, provides multiple confirmation points that strengthen one’s confidence in decisions aligned with God’s purpose. In practical terms, recognizing God's will can also involve evaluating opportunities by their fruit—does this path encourage spiritual growth, service, and alignment with biblical principles? Sometimes what initially seems promising is a mere echo of old dreams or worldly desires. The challenge—and blessing—is to remain open, patient, and trusting, confident that God will illuminate the proper way in His perfect timing. By embracing this ongoing dialogue with God, infused with humility and faith, I have found a peaceful assurance that even the faintest light is meaningful when it is His Spirit leading me on "level ground." This personal journey reflects the plea for God's will expressed in the article and highlights the transformative power of discernment in everyday life.
