"The Architect of Your Reality"
"The Architect of Your Reality"
Do you realize that you are an architect, building your daily life with the structural material of your words?
Proverbs 18:21 tells us: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."
For a long time, I lived in homes built of toxic words spoken continuously, sometimes to me, but always throughout the home to anyone and everyone else who happened to be living there at the time.
I was carrying a crushing weight of "yuckiness" and fear, negativity, and judgment.
I was eating a harvest I hated, yet didn’t know of another garden to eat from.
As I grew older, I invited Jesus into my conversation.
Here is the beauty of a redeemed life: Jesus doesn't just enter your space; He takes over.
When I surrendered, He didn't just walk in; He took over, carrying away that heavy, toxic burden as easily as one removes a heavy winter coat. The old, dead weight fell away because His power of life is greater than the destructive power of the tongue.
Now, I walk in a new identity. I am a child of God, and I have a new language—a language of life. I am choosing to be intentional, shifting from a victim of words to a sower of life-giving truth. The “first fruits” of my life are now love, grace, and purposeful declaration of His word.
If you are currently eating the bitter fruit of an uncontrolled tongue—or the harsh words of others—take heart. Today is the day to change the crop.
Reflect: What kind of fruit have your words been producing lately?
Act: Replace one negative thought about yourself or someone else with a scripture-based truth today.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that You are the only one capable of transforming my heart and, consequently, my speech. I recognize that I owe You everything for the freedom I now have, moving from the weight of death to the light of life. I lay down my tongue to You, asking You to govern it. I choose to follow You purposefully, sowing the "first fruits" of love and truth into my life and the lives around me. Help me to speak words that align with my new, redeemed identity in You. In Your powerful name, Amen.
