"Even on the Far Side of the Sea"

Psalm 139:9-10: "If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me..." Matthew 8:27
There is no horizon too distant for the reach of Grace. Our sailors and aviators wake to the "wings of the dawn" not as a metaphor, but as a daily mission.
They operate in the tension between the spray of the salt-mist and the searing heat of a jet turbine.
While evil moves in the shadows and the world’s "game" feels uncertain, we remember: the Navy does not sail into a God-forsaken void.
Whether in the silent depths with the frogmen or the thundering heights of a Super Hornet, they are never "out of bounds" for the Right Hand of the Father.
Let's Pray a salute to the Watchmen...
Sovereign Lord...
We lift up the men and women of the United States Navy—the vanguard of freedom who settle on the far side of the sea.
Though the trip is long and the ocean is moody, crashing its weight against the bow, we thank You that the waves which toss the ship are yet under Your feet.
In the heavy air where salt spray meets the scent of jet fuel, grant them a clarity that surpasses human sense.
When the fog of war rolls in and the pieces on the global chessboard move toward darkness... be their North Star!
To the crews of the Lightning II and the Super Hornets: give them steady hands and unwavering sight as they deliver their payload and stand as a shield for the oppressed.
To the frogmen in the deep and the sailors exacting the line: be their strength in the watch.
Father, protect the hearts of the families waiting on the home shore.
Silence the fear of the unknown with the whisper of Psalm 139.
Remind them that even in a foreign battlefield, Your hand is guiding their sailors, Your right hand is holding them fast.
We look forward with hope to the day the "victory fly-by" echoes over the deck—the moment the mission is complete and the ticket home is punched.
Until that dawn, keep them vigilant, keep them brave, and keep them Yours.

Whether delivering missions through the roar of a Super Hornet or maintaining vigil below sea level, every member of the Navy embodies the strength described in these scriptures.
