The air on the mountaintop feels holy. Suddenly, the fabric of reality rips wide open.
This is the raw, uncreated, blinding geometry of heaven erupting from inside Jesus's coarse robe. His face strikes like the midday sun.
Moses and Elijah—the Law and the Prophets—stand there, representing centuries of human effort. But on this peak, the heavy weight of the Law bows in absolute, reverent submission to the overwhelming beauty of Grace standing right in front of them in the person of Jesus.
The Father’s voice rumbles from the cloud: “This is my Son. Listen to Him.”
The cosmic seal is pressed. This is the Lamb—the only One worthy to open the seals of destiny, holding the blueprints of creation in His scarred hands.
Paralyzed by the sheer terror of being inches away from the Living God, you fall face-first into the dirt. Words are useless. Your previous beliefs look like absolute folly; the tiny, manageable God you constructed dissolves into nothingness.
But then, a warm, firm hand touches your shoulder. "Rise," He says. "Have no fear."
You lift your eyes. The lightning, the cloud, and the prophets are gone. There is no one left but Jesus only. The Almighty King, standing in the dirt, smiling down at you.
The terror vanishes, replaced by a roaring fire in your chest. You are completely rejuvenated. The mountain peak was spectacular, but the valley is waiting. You walk down that slope ready to finish exactly what He started.
When life overwhelms you, stop looking at the storm. Look up and remember the blinding light on the ridge. He is sufficient. Your deepest satisfaction no longer comes from chasing easy, sunny paths.
It comes from walking with absolute confidence through the pitch-black caverns of this broken world, acting as God’s spotlight.
You are a living bridge pointing people to eternity—to the rescue of the Cross and the beautiful mystery of the Trinity. Go change the world, my friend!

Lord, break the small, comfortable boxes I put You in. Let the shock and awe of Your presence ruin me for casual living. Rejuvenate my spirit today, and make me a bold, unapologetic spotlight for Your truth in the darkest corners of this world. Amen.
