Picture this: Hunted like an animal. Trapped in a dark cave. But David refused to focus on his terrifying surroundings. Instead, God occupied the center of his attention.
In Psalm 57:11, he declares: "Be exalted above the heavens, O God; let Your glory be over all the earth."
By crying out "Be exalted," David shifted his focus. He chose to glance at his problems, but gaze at his God. From the shadows of that cavern, he prayed Psalm 142:5, crying out: "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living."
He wasn't praying for fame. He wasn't even venting, asking God to destroy his enemy. He was stuck in a cave, but his heart was fixed on worship. He prioritized God's glory over his own comfort.
Your current cave is not your conclusion. It is the canvas for God’s glory.
We all face caves. Financial ruin. Broken relationships. Disturbing diagnoses. Overwhelming anxiety. Our instinct is to lock our eyes on the danger.
But true faith doesn’t say, "What Cave?" It simply refuses to call the cave its God.
Glance at your giants, but gaze at your Savior. Stop staring at the dark. Look up, fix your eyes on the King, and watch your cave become a sanctuary.
