To the skeptic who secretly wants to believe...
Psalm 34:18 — "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
"If God is so good...Why is there so much pain?" 💔
Tragedy makes it feel like God is absent.
Indifferent. Or just a myth. But Psalm 34:18 isn’t a philosophy quiz.
It’s an emergency response. It doesn’t explain WHY evil exists.
It tells you WHERE God goes when evil strikes.
He doesn't run away.He runs straight toward the wreckage. When your heart is broken...God isn't looking down from a safe distance. He is right there in the trenches of your sorrow.
He validates your agony. He doesn't dismiss it with cheap clichés.To "save" you doesn't mean He removes the storm. It means He holds your soul together.
So the weight of the world doesn't destroy you.
We do not serve a detached, cosmic observer. We serve a God who chose to bleed.
When this world felt cruel and unjust...God didn't stay behind the stars. In Jesus Christ, God Himself was brokenhearted.
He was crushed in spirit on a cross. He doesn’t look at your scars with pity. He looks at you with profound empathy. Because He bears the exact same wounds.
You are at a crossroads. You can keep carrying this crushing weight alone...Trapped in the cold comfort of skepticism. Or you can step into the arms of a Savior. One who already suffered for you. Who understands your pain firsthand.
And promises you will never walk in the dark alone.
He is closest to you right now.In this very moment of your deepest doubt. Will you let Him in?
If you are ready...Read this prayer silently to yourself:
"Jesus, I don't have all the answers."
"And I still don't understand all this pain."
"But I don't want to carry my brokenness alone anymore."
"I want to believe that You are close to me right now."
"Thank You for suffering on the cross for me. Thank You for understanding my scars. I open my heart to You. Step into my darkness and sustain my spirit. Teach me how to trust You. I choose to follow You today. Amen."
It changed everything for me! Write 'Amen' if you read it all the way through. We can talk in the comments: What is the hardest question you have for God right now?
