Protection spell jar 🖤
What you’ll need:
Lavender
Whole cloves
Black peppercorns
Rosemary
1 cinnamon stick (crushed)
1 bay leaf
1 jar
Matches/lighter (optional)
Candle/wax (optional)
If you only have 2 of these herbs that’s perfectly fine and still enough to make this effective.
I added 3 spoonfuls of each herb into the jar, all for protection and then added the cinnamon and bay leaf. I drew a protection rune on the bay leaf and an affirmation on the backside of it before I burned it. I sealed the jar with black wax (black is the color for protection) and gave it a good shake.
How long is this good for?
I would charge it every moon cycle to renew its energy. I wouldn’t keep it longer than 6 months. That’s my own preference but do what feels right to you. Imagine the jar like a magnet that can pull any negative or unwanted energy off of you when you need it.
Remember to set your intentions, use what feels right to you. Sometimes when spells don’t work, it’s because we are not adding our own magick to them.
Peace and love 💜

Creating your own protection spell jar is such a personal and empowering practice! In my experience, the magic truly comes from the intention you pour into it. While the article gives a fantastic foundational recipe, I've found a few extra tips and insights can really enhance its power and address common questions. Deep Dive into Protection Herbs and Ingredients: Each ingredient in your protection spell jar carries its own unique energetic properties, making the combination incredibly potent. For instance, Lavender isn't just for a pleasant scent; it's renowned for promoting peace, warding off evil, and bringing tranquility. Whole cloves are fantastic for banishing negative energies and protecting your space from unwanted influences. Black peppercorns are often used to break hexes, dispel jealousy, and create a strong energetic barrier. Rosemary is a powerhouse for cleansing, protection, and memory enhancement – I love how it purifies the space. The cinnamon stick, especially when crushed, not only speeds up your intentions but also attracts positive energy and offers an extra layer of protection. And the bay leaf, as highlighted in the original guide, is perfect for inscribing specific intentions or runes for focused protection. Seeing these powerful spices and herbs come together in a jar, sealed with black wax (which is a strong color for absorbing and deflecting negativity), truly feels like creating a fortress for your home and personal energy. Enhancing Your Spell Jar Ritual: Beyond assembling the ingredients, the ritual itself is crucial. When you're adding each herb, take a moment to visualize its protective qualities. Imagine a shield forming around your home or yourself. When drawing a protection rune on the bay leaf, really focus on the symbol's meaning. After sealing your jar, you can hold it in your hands and speak your intentions aloud. Some practitioners like to pass it through incense smoke (like frankincense or sage) to cleanse and consecrate it before placing it. This First of the month ritual for recharging is something I absolutely swear by; the moon's energy is incredible for renewing intentions and power. Just hold your jar under the moonlight, or even simply in your hands, and visualize it absorbing fresh, vibrant energy. Placement and Maintenance for Your Home Protection Spell Jar: Where you place your home protection spell jar matters! Many people put theirs near the main entrance to their home, in a central living area, or even in their bedroom window. The idea is to have it in a place where it can best absorb and deflect unwanted energies. Some prefer to keep it discreet, while others like it as a visible piece of decor. As for maintenance, in addition to monthly charging, it's a good idea to periodically check in with your jar. If you feel its energy has dimmed, or if you've gone through a particularly stressful period, a quick recharge or even a gentle shake can reawaken its purpose. Generally, if a jar feels 'heavy' or 'drained' after 6 months, it might be time to respectfully dispose of its contents back to the earth and create a new one. Addressing Common Questions and Other Spell Jar Types: What if you don't have all the ingredients? Don't worry! The spirit of a spell jar lies in your intention. If you only have a couple of the herbs listed, use those and infuse them with even stronger purpose. You can also research substitutions – for example, salt is a classic protection ingredient if you're missing some herbs. While this guide focuses on protection spell jars, it's worth noting that spell jars can be crafted for almost any intention, from prosperity and self-love to attracting specific energies. However, it's important to differentiate. A love spell jar would involve different ingredients and intentions than a protection jar spell, so always be clear with your purpose. This particular recipe is designed to create a strong, protective shield, keeping your energy and space safe and harmonious.

this might be a silly question but will this still work if the spices are purchased from a supermarket?
