Pixie cut?!?!!! Yes or no?
I’ve been thinking about getting a pixie cut and I’m really excited and scared but willing to take the risk to try it out.
There’s a few reasons I want to do it. 1. I’m so tired of my natural hair. I’ve been constantly doing tight a** slick backs and I’m pretty sure they’ve damaged a part of my hair. Which is why I think I need to cut it.
So why not do a pixie….. I’ve always wanted to lowkey. Idkkk my only concern is the relaxer…. I don’t want to relax my hair but it’s kinda necessary for the look I want.
👍Pros: new hairstyle for my birthday approaching this month.
Less concern about what to do with my hair next
something new
Get to experiment
Less hassle with perm
🤔Cons: no more natural hair
Won’t know how to style my hair right away
Might not like it and want to be natural
can’t get braid hairstyles
hmmm hmmm hmm what to do. Guess we’ll see on Friday. I have an appointment booked 😩🫣🤭😬
Deciding to get a pixie cut is a bold move, especially when you’ve been used to longer hair or protective styles like tight slick backs. I can totally relate to the mix of excitement and nervousness that comes with this change. One important thing I learned is to talk to a trusted hairstylist beforehand to discuss your hair’s condition, especially if you’ve used relaxers or chemicals in the past. They can recommend the healthiest approach and styling tips for a pixie cut. I also discovered that a pixie cut can open up creative styling opportunities you might not expect, such as experimenting with baby bangs, or even a 'high & tight' look, which can frame your face beautifully and add an edgy flair. If you’re worried about losing your natural hair texture or protective styles like braids, consider that a pixie cut can be a fresh start to promote healthier hair growth by eliminating damaged ends. In my experience, maintaining a pixie cut involves embracing the new styling routines and products that work best for short hair, such as lightweight mousses or texturizing sprays for volume and definition. One challenge is adapting to less versatility in hairdos, but the ease and time saved each day are definitely worth it. Plus, if you decide it’s not for you, remember hair grows back, and sometimes a cut like this is exactly what you need to refresh your style and confidence.
