weekly report entry no. 9 ⋆˚✿˖°
a trip to kuya joe’s and horrifying delights
reading: recently learned of the tragic story of marina keegan and was curious to read her work. I picked up her essay, “The Opposite of Loneliness” and didn’t put it down all weekend. It’s a well crafted read and there so much obvious talent in the way she captures such hard to describe emotions in young adulthood.
eating: i thought this was the week i wasn’t going to share filipino food related topics, but a recent trip to Trader Joe’s swindled me out of it. I’m surprisingly impressed with this calamansi sorbet, it’s rare to find an americanized take on filipino dessert without it having an artificial taste to it. I give it an 8/10.
playing: if you tell me there’s a movie with nicolas cage in it, i’m going to sit right down and watch it. i loved the eery wackiness and the concept of the film, but towards the end, i feel like the story started to run off. regardless, it was a good watch and i wish i saw it when it was in theaters.
obsessing: okay, i might have given into the trader joe’s mini tote hype, but to be fair, i was grabbing (above) sorbet and it occurred by happenstance the tj i went to had the totes. so obviously, had to grab one of each color lol. i wish i had green tho :-(
recommending: added the most valuable upgrade to my car at the moment 😌. now everyone is a princess, as she should feel!
treating: the no-sweets-streak didn’t last long, but if you smelled the bakery walking past, you would understand too.
and that was my week, see ya next week xx
