Shhhhhh… 🤫
They don’t tell you that part about immune disease…
The uphill battle for mental strength—
forget about the physical strength lost.
The days where you can’t reset
after too much life.
They don’t tell you how heavy it gets
having to push through
when your body is quietly working against you.
Or how exhausting it is
to look “fine” on the outside
while everything inside feels off.
They don’t talk about the guilt—
when you cancel plans,
when you can’t show up the way you want to,
when rest feels like failure.
Or the mental load
of constantly checking in with your own body…
Can I do this today? Should I? What will it cost me later?
They don’t tell you about the fear
of slipping backwards—
of losing progress you fought hard for.
And they don’t tell you about the days
you want to give up…
to just let the disease win,
to stop fighting so hard for a body
that won’t meet you halfway.
But you don’t—
because too many people are watching you
for strength you don’t always feel like you have.
So you carry it anyway.
Or how strength starts to look different…
It’s not always pushing harder.
Sometimes it’s knowing when to stop.
When to sit it out.
When to protect what little energy you have left.
And maybe the hardest part—
learning to give yourself grace
in a body that doesn’t always cooperate.
But here’s what they don’t tell you either…
You learn a different kind of strength.
A quieter one.
A stubborn, keep-going-anyway kind.
And some days—
that counts for everything.
💪🏼 💜
