It's been fun having my mom visit me
Having my mom visit recently was truly one of the highlights of my year! It's always a special feeling to have her here, but this time felt extra magical. We made sure to pack in as many experiences as we could, and I wanted to share a bit about what made it so memorable, in case you're planning a visit with your own amazing mom soon! One of our absolute favorite things was catching a game at the stadium. There's just something about the atmosphere, the cheering crowd, and sharing snacks that makes it so much fun. My mom, looking stylish in her glasses, even got into the spirit, and we snapped a ton of selfies to capture those happy moments. I loved seeing her smile while wearing that Chicago Cubs shirt – it was a spontaneous purchase, but totally worth it for the memories! We also spent a lot of time just exploring the city. We hopped on the subway and train system, which was an adventure in itself, getting to see different neighborhoods. Walking down a bustling city street at night, with all the lights and energy around us, felt incredibly special. It’s those simple moments, like grabbing a coffee and just chatting as we stroll, that I cherish the most. It wasn't about extravagant plans, but about quality time. If you're thinking of planning a visit with your mom, or if she's coming to see you, my biggest tip is to really focus on what she enjoys, but also introduce her to your world. Like, she might not usually go to an arena, but experiencing it with you can be really exciting for her. Don't underestimate the power of simple pleasures – a home-cooked meal, watching her favorite movie together, or just sitting and reminiscing. Another thing I found important was to capture those memories. Whether it's through photos, like our many selfies, or just making a mental note of funny conversations or sweet gestures. These visits fly by so quickly, and having those tangible reminders of the joy shared is priceless. It's not just about what you *do*, but about being present and enjoying each other's company. An older woman's wisdom combined with a younger person's perspective can lead to the best conversations! Honestly, these visits are more than just catching up; they're about reaffirming that special bond. Every time my mom visits, I'm reminded of how much she means to me. So, if you have the chance to visit your mom, or invite her over, take it! You won't regret making those precious memories together.
