Ocs inspired by Alice In Wonderland
Hey everyone! I'm so thrilled you're checking out my Alice in Wonderland OCs! Creating these characters has been such a fun journey, and I wanted to share a bit about my process and maybe inspire you to create your own Wonderland adventurers. When I started designing these original characters, I really focused on blending classic Alice in Wonderland elements with my own unique twists. For instance, you'll see some OCs embracing the iconic 'Alice blue dress' illustration style, but maybe with different accessories or skirt lengths, like a pleated purple skirt for a touch of whimsy. I love playing with the idea of what an 'Alice' type cartoon character could look like beyond the traditional long blonde hair and blue dress – perhaps a dark-haired character with a similar blue dress silhouette, or even someone sporting white stockings and black shoes but with a completely different color palette or black accents. Another huge source of inspiration was the Mad Hatter! You'll notice some characters with fun 'top hat' elements, incorporating that chaotic charm into their outfits. Some might wear a blue top hat with a white band, or even a light blue fedora with a purple band, showing the diversity of these 'Mad Hatter' inspired characters. When I think about 'Alice in Wonderland inspired characters,' I don't just think about direct copies, but rather interpretations of the themes: curiosity, madness, tea parties, and unexpected encounters, all influencing their unique designs. If you're wondering how to make your own OCs stand out, especially to make someone think 'is this hero?' about your character, here are a few tips I've learned: Twist the Familiar: Take a well-known element, like the 'blue dress,' and give it a unique spin. What if it's a blue dress with black accents, or a different shade of blue? Consider adding white trim or unique black shoes to elevate the look. Personality First: Think about your character's story. Are they curious like Alice, or mischievous like the Cheshire Cat? This helps guide their design, from their hairstyle (long blonde hair, dark curly hair, or long brown hair with a bow) to their overall outfit. Detailing is Key: Incorporate small details from Wonderland. For example, one of my characters might have a subtle pocket watch motif, or another might wear a hat clearly inspired by the Mad Hatter's iconic look. Consider 'Alice Growth': How might your character evolve? Does their outfit change as they journey through Wonderland? Do they grow more confident or whimsical? Thinking about 'Alice growth' can add depth and a narrative arc to your character design. I hope this gives you some ideas for exploring your own creative takes on Wonderland! It's amazing how many different 'cartoon character' designs you can come up with while staying true to the spirit of this magical world.
