House Goose Pt 2!!!
I went to my friend’s aunt’s yard sale and she gave me this house goose!!! Henry (my other house goose) has a friend now!!! His name is Harry.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I'm still buzzing from finding Harry, my new house goose! It’s so much fun having two of these adorable statues gracing my porch. Henry, my first goose, finally has a buddy, and seeing them together just makes me smile. Finding Harry at a yard sale was such a lucky score, and it got me thinking about all the joy these quirky garden friends bring! If you’re looking to start your own porch goose collection, or even just find that perfect single white goose statue with a yellow beak, I have a few tips from my own experience. Yard sales, like where I found Harry, are absolute treasures. You never know what gems you'll stumble upon! Estate sales and antique shops can also be fantastic spots for finding vintage or unique geese. Don't forget to check online marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace or local classifieds – sometimes people are looking to rehome their beloved outdoor decor. Of course, many garden centers and home decor stores also carry them, especially around spring and summer, so keep an eye out! One of the absolute best parts about owning a porch goose is getting to dress them up! Seriously, the possibilities for porch goose outfit ideas are endless. For Easter, an adorable porch goose Easter dress with bonnets and little baskets is a must. Think spring florals and pastel colors! In the summer, I love putting a tiny straw hat and sunglasses on Henry and Harry – they look like they're ready for a beach vacation. When fall rolls around, miniature scarecrow outfits or little pumpkin sweaters are super cute. And for the holidays? Santa hats, scarves, and even tiny elf costumes are perfect. You can find ready-made outfits online or at craft stores, but honestly, making your own is half the fun! It's such a creative way to express your personality and celebrate the seasons. While geese are my absolute favorite, I know some folks might be looking for a porch goose alternative animal. And hey, there are so many fun garden statues out there! Flamingos, garden gnomes, concrete squirrels, or even whimsical frogs can bring a similar touch of charm to your outdoor space. But for me, nothing beats the classic, slightly suspicious goose stare that brings a chuckle to anyone passing by. There’s just something so endearing and a little bit silly about them. Keeping your goose statues looking their best is pretty simple. I give mine a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth every now and then to remove dust and dirt. If they're out in the elements a lot, a clear sealant can help protect their paint, especially if they have that classic white goose statue with a yellow beak look. And if you're worried about them getting knocked over, a little bit of landscape adhesive or even just placing them in a sheltered spot can help. Seriously, adding a porch goose (or two, or three!) to your home is such a delightful way to add personality and a touch of whimsy. They're not just decorations; they become little members of your outdoor family. I'd love to hear if you have any porch geese, and what fun outfits you've dressed them in!
