It's true what they say about spider monkeys – they are incredibly social and form deep bonds, not just with each other but also with their human caregivers. My daily routine with my 'Hopers' isn't just about feeding them; it's about connecting and understanding their unique ways of showing affection. When I talk about 'cuddle time,' it's more than just a quick hug. It's an intricate dance of trust and communication. Beyond the obvious cuddles, I often see them engaging in allogrooming, where they meticulously pick through each other's fur. I often try to mimic this gentle interaction during our one-on-one time, offering soft strokes and scratches, and they seem to really appreciate it, often leaning into my hand. Another fascinating behavior I've observed is their tail wrapping.
