Need advice.
He keeps cussing randomly and I tell him to stop and he does, yet goes back and forth. He says things like “ f u” or “ shut the f up”. Idek what to do. I like that he makes me feel that I don’t have to change anything about my appearance. He has told me that I was hard to read yet gets vulgar and gets difficult to open up since I have trauma. Please give me advice
Dealing with a partner who uses vulgar language can be challenging and emotionally draining. It's essential to establish clear communication about your feelings regarding their behavior. Begin by expressing how their language impacts you, emphasizing that it's not just about the words but also about respect and emotional safety in the relationship. Setting personal boundaries is crucial. Clearly define what you consider unacceptable language and the consequences of crossing those boundaries. This helps instill mutual respect and creates a more empathetic atmosphere. Consider suggesting alternatives to express frustration or anger in a way that's non-vulgar. Building emotional intimacy is another vital step. Encourage open discussions about your past experiences, including trauma, to foster understanding and compassion. This can help both partners feel more connected and less likely to resort to negative language. Additionally, creating a space for vulnerability may allow your partner to share their emotions more openly without using profanities. Lastly, if the behavior continues despite your efforts, it may be worth reconsidering the relationship's dynamics. Reflecting on whether the relationship is fulfilling and healthy for both parties is key. Remember, it's crucial to prioritize your emotional well-being in any relationship.

This doesn’t seem like that crazy of a deal to me. Why is this such a dealbreaker for you? You mentioned how you appreciate that he doesn’t make you feel like you need to change, but you’re doing that to him. It seems like it might not work out if this isn’t something you can compromise on
