Almost every metalhead I met isn’t good for me. One of them said that he wouldn’t care if I ever cheated, that stuck with me for while because I’ve never been loved properly and usually not first priority. He was friendly tho but I didn’t like that he told me that. My mom told me that the types of guys I like aren’t good people. Some of them treated me terribly and idk if it’s them or it’s just me who keeps meeting bad ones. I kinda stopped trying to get at one because they just end up treated me like a second option.

Through my experience, I've noticed a pattern where many men I've met in the metal scene seem emotionally detached or dismissive of commitment. It can be really painful when someone openly says they wouldn't care if you cheated—it makes you question your value and self-respect. I also received advice from my mom warning me about the types of guys I’m attracted to, and honestly, after being hurt repeatedly, I started wondering if it’s me or just bad luck. If you find yourself in similar situations, it's important to reflect on what you truly want and deserve in a relationship. Being treated as a second option or feeling like you’re never the priority can drain your confidence and happiness. Some people in the metal community might embrace a lifestyle that values freedom and casual connections, which may not align with everyone's expectations. What helped me was setting clear boundaries and learning to recognize red flags early on. It’s also crucial to remember that not all metalheads fit this mold—there are plenty of caring, loyal people out there in every community. Opening up to friends, seeking support, and prioritizing your mental and emotional health can change your dating experiences dramatically. Love and respect should never be negotiable. Sharing these stories openly can build understanding and help others feel less alone when navigating complex relationships.
