Long story short Brandi (she’s on the last slide) reached out to me like “hey I have this vision and I want you to be a part of it”
Of course I said YES!
At the time (sept 2023) I was just going through a break up from an 8 year relationship, and I needed something to recharge my batteries and get me out of those early stages of grief (IYKYK).
On top of the fact I was NOT feeling “pretty” at the time.. if you ever been in a relationship that drained you of your beauty and made you ugly (lol) then you know what I mean.
I didn’t know what the vision was until I got there and walked into a room of 3 beautiful brown melanated women! I immediately felt relief and excitement cause whatever the vision was, I knew it was gone EAT DOWN!
Which it did 🤏🏾✨✨✨
Oh, and the cherry on top… the shoot fell on my birthday. 🥹🤎
Thank you @Bomb Azz Brandi for this experience! If you ever have anymore visions girl hit my line. 😉🥰

It’s common to feel drained and even lose confidence in your appearance during such difficult times. That’s why finding uplifting experiences, like a creative photoshoot, can be a powerful way to heal and reclaim your sense of self.
Participating in a photoshoot surrounded by beautiful brown melanated women brings an additional layer of empowerment. It celebrates diversity and natural beauty, which can be incredibly uplifting when you’re recovering from emotional hardship. Being in the presence of others who radiate confidence and culture creates a supportive and inspiring environment that helps you reconnect with your inner strength and beauty.
It’s also worth noting how important self-care and creative outlets are during the early phases of grief after a breakup. Activities that encourage self-expression and community can accelerate your healing by shifting your focus from pain to growth. In your case, saying “YES” to a friend’s vision not only helped recharge your batteries but also turned your birthday into a celebration of resilience and rebirth.
If you or someone you know is in the early stages of emotional recovery, consider ways to engage with like-minded people or creative projects that make you feel valued and beautiful. Whether it’s a photoshoot, art, or any form of self-expression, embracing these moments strengthens your journey toward self-love and joy. Remember, healing is not linear, but each positive experience adds to your confidence and well-being.
