Being Natural is not for the faint of heart
I’ve come a long way on my natural hair journey. At one point I HATED it. It just seemed so difficult to manage and unruly at one point.
It didn’t start to thrive until I really focused on healing my own trauma, forgiving people, and letting go of what no longer was serving me.
After that it’s like it just transformed out of nowhere! My routine became easier to manage, I went from using 10 different products to only 2 or 3, it’s healthier, stronger, and shiny again!
Idk call me crazy but self care and “letting go” just FEELS better and LOOKS better. ♥️🫶🏾
Many people on their natural hair journey find that the transformation goes beyond just hair care—it's a holistic process involving mental and emotional healing. Prioritizing self-care, such as forgiving past trauma and releasing what no longer serves you emotionally, can mirror in the hair's health. When hair becomes healthier and shinier, it often reflects improved inner wellbeing. Switching from a complicated routine with numerous products to a simpler regimen using only a few key items like conditioner, gel, and edge control can reduce frustration and improve hair manageability. It's common to see hair thrive after big chop moments when people start fresh and learn to understand their unique hair texture and needs. Many natural hair enthusiasts note that they stop worrying about shrinkage and other challenges once they accept their hair's natural state and focus on maintaining its health. This acceptance fosters confidence and a deeper connection with their natural beauty. Incorporating regular moisturizing, gentle cleansing, and protective styling helps maintain hair strength and prevent damage. Also, paying attention to scalp health through massaging and proper cleansing can stimulate growth and shine. Remember, loving your natural hair is a process that takes time, patience, and commitment. But as you align your hair care with your self-care practices, the entire experience becomes more rewarding and reflective of your true self.
