Well, I recently got my very own custom artwork, and it's the perfect example to explain! Basically, an art commission is when you pay an artist to create a unique, custom piece of art specifically for you, based on your ideas, characters, or concepts. It's like having a personalized masterpiece brought to life! For example, the stunning anime-style illustration I shared is a commission I received. It depicts two characters in a close embrace, a light blue-haired character being held by a white-haired one as they lean in for a kiss. I absolutely adore how the artist captured the emotion and details, from the black top with red accents on one character to the grey sweater on the other. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind piece that brings my vision to life. So, when an artist announces 'commissions open,' it simply means they are currently accepting new requests for custom artwork from clients. They’ve got slots available in their schedule and are ready to turn your creative dreams into reality!
