My thoughts: don’t worry no spoilers.

I just (and I mean just) finished this book. I’m new to reading and collecting books (that aren’t manga or comics) and I have to say this was one of the best ones I’ve read recently. I’ve read a few others in other genres but didn’t get the idea to word vomit my thoughts on them.

Disclaimer: I’m going to use lemon8 as my personal (public) reading log starting with this post. It’s not for anyone else but if you want to join my journey of finding what genres and authors I enjoy, welcome to the chaos and fee free to comment your favorites. (I’d honestly love recommendations) also it’s my page and if I want to post about something else on a random Tuesday I’m going to. 😊

Back to the point. I loved that this book had a map of their world to reference right in the front. Beautiful, love to see it. The chapters are relatively short, which is nice for people like me with a full time job not able to sit for hours and read. I like to be able to finish chapters before setting the book down or it bugs me. I would also like to note that the author (Sarah j. Maas) has a beautiful was of describing the characters and areas that they are in. I felt like I could fully put myself into their world.

Each detail added to plot, (in my opinion), there were no unnecessary details added. Everything written added to each character so well.

There are five books in this series and I’m genuinely excited to read them in their entirety.

If anyone read this far (I’m a yapper and I’m proud) please comment some book recommendations, any genre, no restrictions at all. My current tbr count is at 38 I believe 🙃 I don’t want to talk about it, I like having options. #my thoughts on this book #whatreyoureading #recentread #lemon8bookclub #improbablyreading

... Read moreAs someone who recently stepped into the world of reading beyond manga and comics, I found Sarah J. Maas' 'Court of Thorns and Roses' a refreshing and compelling read. What truly stood out to me was the inclusion of a detailed map at the front of the book—it made navigating the fantastical world feel accessible and added depth to the experience. This kind of world-building detail is often what draws me deeper into a fantasy series. The short chapters were a blessing as a full-time worker; they allowed me to enjoy the story in manageable bursts without feeling overwhelmed. I appreciated how each chapter felt complete enough to provide satisfaction while leaving me eager to continue. This pacing perfectly suited my reading habits, and I imagine it’s ideal for many others balancing busy schedules. Sarah J. Maas' descriptive writing style is another highlight. She paints vivid pictures of characters and settings that truly immerse you in the story. The way she weaves character development into every plot point means there's never a felt need to skip or skim—each detail enriches the narrative. For those curious about diving into this world, the series spans five books, offering plenty of content to get lost in. I’m genuinely excited to continue this journey. If you’re like me, constantly adding to your TBR list because you love having options, I highly recommend giving this series a try. Also, for fellow readers, I welcome book recommendations across any genre—keeping an open mind is part of the fun! Ultimately, sharing our reading journeys creates a community of discovery, and I look forward to hearing from others about their favorite reads.
