My husband bought me Morning Glory Milking Farm as a joke, but plot twist of the century…the joke is on him because I actually read it. The whole time my brain insisted on picturing adorable dairy cows frolicking in a sunny field, which honestly added an unintentional layer of comedy to the experience.
That said, I can’t even lie, the writing was way better than I expected. The world building was surprisingly solid, the story flowed well, and the side characters absolutely stole the show for me. I found myself genuinely invested in them, which I was not emotionally prepared for going into this book.
Is it weird? Yes. Did I question my life choices a little? Also yes. But was it entertaining and oddly charming in its own way? Again…yes. Not a new favorite, but definitely a memorable read that left me laughing at myself more than once.
Would I recommend it to everyone? Absolutely not.
Do I regret reading it? Also no. 😌

... Read moreOkay, so after my initial shock and laughter over receiving Morning Glory Milking Farm as a 'joke' gift, I realized a lot of you out there are curious about this book! I mean, with a title like that, who wouldn't be? Many of you are probably wondering, 'What is this monster milking book, really?' Let me dive a little deeper into why this C.M. Nascosta novel garnered such a memorable, albeit slightly bewildered, reaction from me.
First off, let's talk about the genre. The cover itself, which I now know features a striking image of a muscular, bull-headed creature alongside a woman in a red dress, boldly proclaims 'a Monster Bait Romance.' And let me tell you, it delivers on that promise. If you're new to the monster romance subgenre, this might be quite the introduction! The 'milking farm' aspect isn't just a quirky title; it's central to the unique world-building Nascosta has crafted. It’s definitely not your typical historical romance or contemporary love story, that’s for sure!
What truly surprised me was how genuinely well-constructed the world of Morning Glory Milking Farm is. Despite the seemingly outlandish premise, Nascosta manages to create a coherent and often charming setting. The story flows smoothly, pulling you into this unexpected reality. I went in expecting pure absurdity, but found myself appreciating the creative depth. The author doesn't just rely on the 'weirdness' for shock value; there's a thought-out system and culture at play, which really elevates it beyond a mere novelty read.
And oh, the characters! While the main relationship is certainly... unique, it was the side characters who truly stole my heart. They brought so much life and humor to the story. I found myself caring deeply about their individual journeys and interactions, which honestly caught me off guard. They add layers of warmth and relatability that balance out some of the more unconventional elements. It's a testament to Nascosta's writing that even in such a niche story, character development shines through.
Now, about that cover – the one with the bull-headed creature and the woman. It’s pretty iconic, right? It perfectly sets the tone for what you're getting into: something a little dark, a little primal, and definitely leaning into the 'monster' side of romance. For those asking about the Morning Glory Milking Farm book cover specifically, it's definitely an eye-catcher and accurately represents the 'monster bait' theme. If you're looking for the paperback version, that cover will be prominently displayed!
So, who is this book for? If you're an adventurous reader, unafraid to stray far from traditional romance, and have an open mind for fantasy and unconventional relationships, then you might just find Morning Glory Milking Farm to be an incredibly entertaining read. It’s definitely not for everyone, and if you prefer your romance strictly human, or without any... farm-related metaphors, then perhaps give this one a pass. But if you're curious about the 'monster milking book' phenomenon and want to see what all the buzz is about, or you're already a fan of authors like C.M. Nascosta and her unique take on romance novels, then this could be your next surprising read. It's part of a broader trend of monster romance novels, and it stands out for its distinctive premise. Don't regret trying something new!
