We got a free TMC room upgrade!✨
We were initially deciding between premier single room ($888+) and 1-bedded room ($788+).
The difference between the two is that the premier single room has a drink station machine in the room itself, sofa bed slightly bigger, and is situated on level 3 where the other suite rooms are (so there are less patients and more quiet). For premier room patients, there is complimentary parking, while for 1-bedded room you will be given 4 x carpark concessionary coupons ($4 for each exit you make).
We booked the 1-bedded room for my 3D2N hospital stay. After giving birth, i was being wheeled to the level 3 ward rooms though! Turned out that for the day I was checking in, the 1-bedded room was all fully occupied, hence we got the free upgrade to premier single room! ✌🏻
Although frankly, because of the state I was in, I could not even get down the bed for almost 2 days, and I could not even sit upright on the bed to eat properly (was eating at a 150 degree angle)! So actually, the room was more of “enjoyed” by the husband instead (although he also couldnt really enjoy as he was right by my side at my beck and call to assist in every action I needed to do 🙊
You will only be wheeled into the hospital ward room after you give birth, or if you are undergoing induction procedure after the 2 hours ctg monitoring session. For me, i ended up being in the birthing room (last photo) all the way from start of induction to birthing (13+ hours in total).
Overall, had a good experience stay at TMC. The hospital ward nurses constantly checked in on me on my pain etc

For families visiting, the larger sofa bed in the premier room allows your partner to stay close and provide support, which is vital during recovery—even if the primary patient can’t move much initially. Overall, knowing the differences in room features and parking policies beforehand helped us appreciate the smoothness and care offered at TMC’s maternity services.
