We did the at-home tests, but in this journey, the answers aren’t official until the Beta results are back. We got those labs yesterday afternoon, and it was a “no.” Our second transfer didn’t take.
The hardest part isn’t just the negative result; it’s the way the hormones play cruel mind games. For weeks, I’ve navigated the cramps and back pain that make you wonder... only for the labs to say otherwise. And just because the medication ended doesn’t mean the pain goes away just yet. My body is still feeling every bit of this journey today.
Knowing this was their last boy embryo, I gave it my absolute all. I put myself on a strict diet, cutting out most gluten and dairy, and starting every single morning with a greens or a spinach smoothie—not because I was told to, but because I wanted the peace of mind knowing I was as healthy as I could possibly be for them. I wanted to give that little boy every single advantage I could.
For two weeks, I gave up my independence. For a woman who prides herself on doing it all, it was a struggle to ask for help with the groceries, have someone else carry bags of soil, and not be able to pick up my daughter or wrestle with my son. I put my independence on a shelf, hoping for a miracle for this family.
Even though I did everything “right,” the result wasn’t mine to decide.
Today, I’m finally closing the medicine cabinet. 💊 While my body is still recovering and the back pain and cramps are still present, I’m no longer being sidelined. I’m picking up those bags of soil, hugging my kids tight, and pouring my energy into the life still blooming all around me. 🌿🎨
