Started the morning with a nutrient-dense spinach and strawberry smoothie before heading to church. There is truly nothing like worshiping with your friends & family.
Brynna even invited her friend Hannah to church this morning, and now they are off to a Sunday matinee! 🍿📽️ Jayden, is still fighting the flu and is officially at the “I’m so bored” stage of being sick. We’ll be hunkered down for the Super Bowl tonight. 🏈🤒
The Surrogacy Update: 🕊️
Since it’s the weekend, there are no “official” next steps on our contract yet. Physically, I’m just navigating the hormone reset of coming off the meds. Honestly, after nearly two years of “on-again, off-again” birth control and hormone shifts to prep for this journey, I’m ready for some stability. If it wasn’t for my heart for surrogacy, I would’ve stuck with my IUD and skipped this roller coaster! 🎢
In happier news... Justin’s birthday is this Friday! 🎂 I’ve got his sweater (check the carousel for a peek—he is wearing it!), but I’m still looking for one more thing. Between his big day and Valentine’s Day, I need ideas!

... Read moreStarting my day with a spinach and strawberry smoothie not only gave me a nutrient boost but also energized me mentally for a meaningful Sunday. Smoothies packed with superfoods like spinach and berries are excellent for immune support: ideal when family members are battling illnesses like flu. Sharing worship time with friends and family always refuels my spirit, reminding me that community is a powerful source of comfort and joy.
Navigating the hormonal changes post-medication in my surrogacy journey has been quite a roller coaster. The constant “on-again, off-again” shifts challenge both mental and physical stability, making self-care vital. I found that journaling my feelings and practicing gentle mindfulness help maintain balance during this time. Surrogacy carries emotional highs and lows, but staying connected to the purpose behind this journey anchors me.
With Justin’s birthday and Valentine’s Day close together, gift hunting can be tricky—finding something unique yet meaningful is key. Personalized gifts such as custom photo books or engraved keepsakes often leave a lasting impression. For those considering gifts for their partner, I recommend thinking beyond material things: planning an experience, like a concert or a weekend getaway, can create beautiful memories that outshine physical gifts.
This weekend’s plan to stay in with family and watch the Super Bowl is a reminder that sometimes the simplest moments—with loved ones gathered around—are the most cherished. Whether it’s battling boredom during sickness or celebrating milestones, shared experiences strengthen bonds and create stories worth remembering.
