Last night was one for the books!

Brynna officially conquered her first major coaster — VelociCoaster (with less 0.5 inches to spare thanks to chunky bottom shoes! 😂).

Braved the Dollar Tree crowds this morning and now it’s time for an easy, laid-back Saturday with my favorite people. Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! ❤️

2/14 Edited to

... Read moreExperiencing a major coaster like VelociCoaster for the first time is truly unforgettable, especially at a place as vibrant as Islands of Adventure. From personal experience, preparation is key to making your visit smooth and enjoyable. For example, picking the right footwear can make a huge difference; Brynna’s decision to wear chunky bottom shoes gave her that slight height advantage to meet the ride’s height requirement — a smart tip for anyone worried about clearance on thrill rides. Visiting popular attractions during special days like Valentine’s Day means facing crowds, and braving them can feel daunting. I’ve found that arriving early, planning your route, and using any available app features to check wait times help reduce stress. Also, taking breaks between adrenaline-packed rides with some laid-back family time, like the relaxed Saturday afternoon shared in the article, balances excitement with comfort. Valentine’s Day at such a fun venue is a great excuse to create lasting family memories. Whether you’re conquering coasters or simply enjoying the atmosphere, prioritize moments with your favorite people. These experiences are what make theme park visits truly special beyond just the rides. For those planning a trip soon, consider exploring beyond the big hits—Islands of Adventure offers hidden gems and quieter spots perfect for downtime after the thrills. Combining both adrenaline and calm moments makes for a perfectly rounded day. So, whether it’s your first coaster or your tenth, embracing the entire experience with flexibility and joy will ensure your visit is one for the books, just like Brynna’s memorable night.
