Missouri summer days
Oh my gosh, you guys, if you haven't experienced a Missouri summer, you are seriously missing out! I used to think summer meant just hot days, but here, it's all about embracing the warmth with incredible outdoor adventures. And let me tell you, the absolute best way to beat the heat and make unforgettable memories is by exploring Missouri's stunning spring waters. I recently spent some time discovering these natural gems, and each one felt like a little slice of paradise. Imagine crystal-clear, cool water, even when it's sweltering outside. It's such a refreshing feeling! One of my favorite finds was a spot where the water was so clear, you could see right to the bottom. We spent hours just floating, swimming, and picnicking by the banks. The sound of the water, the chirping birds, and the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees – it was pure bliss. For anyone planning a Missouri summer trip, definitely put exploring some of these natural springs on your list. Many of them are part of state parks, which means they're usually well-maintained and have facilities like picnic areas, restrooms, and sometimes even camping spots. It makes for such an easy and enjoyable day out. I always pack a good cooler with plenty of snacks and drinks, a sturdy pair of water shoes (those rocky bottoms can be tricky!), and of course, my waterproof phone case to capture all the beauty. Beyond the spring waters, Missouri summers offer so much more. I love visiting local farmers' markets for fresh produce and homemade goodies. There's nothing quite like biting into a juicy, ripe peach that was just picked! Evenings are perfect for stargazing away from city lights, or catching an outdoor movie night in one of the quaint small towns. Another must-do for me during a Missouri summer is hiking. Even with the heat, there are so many shaded trails, especially those that follow rivers or lead to waterfalls. The humidity can be a bit much sometimes, but starting early in the morning makes a huge difference. The air is cooler, and the wildlife is more active. I’ve seen deer, all sorts of birds, and even a playful otter once by a creek! Don't forget about the lakes too! While the springs offer a unique clarity and coolness, Missouri's lakes are fantastic for boating, fishing, and just relaxing on a sandy beach. It’s a different vibe, but equally enjoyable. Whether you’re into adrenaline-pumping water sports or just want to chill with a good book by the water, there’s a lake for that. My top tip for making the most of your Missouri summer days? Be spontaneous! While it's great to have a few landmarks in mind, some of the best experiences come from just driving down a scenic road and stumbling upon a hidden gem. Pack light, stay hydrated, and be ready for anything. You'll truly fall in love with the natural beauty and laid-back pace. Trust me, these summer memories are ones I'll cherish forever!
