How I study as a girl with Audhd🎀

How I study as a girl with Audhd🎀

1. Break into sections.

Looking at a lot and not knowing where to start is very common, which could lead to heavy procrastination. I break into multiple parts so that I can focus on one thing at a time, while also not over cramming. Too much information learnt in one night could lessen how much you actually remember.

2. Pomodoro Technique.

I use this technique to help me stay focused and helps me not become overstimulated. This technique is when you study for a set amount of time no distractions and then take a break and study again. Idk the science behind it lol, but this helps me destimulate and not feel like i'm cramming my head with info and I don't get sick of studying so easily. This technique also helps you get accustomed to being able to study for periods of time without any distraction and you would be able to study for longer

I use study for 30 minutes break for 5 come back for another 30 and i do this until either i'm done or studied enough for that day

3. Paper to Scribble On

Commonly in ADHD people, we sometimes have terrible memory and our perception of time can be different as well which makes remembering harder.

Using a paper to draw on while reading your notes can help you remember what you are reading. You don't have to write anything specific. Just take your pencil and draw while you're reading!!

4. Background music

Music really helps de stimulate me when i feel too anxious and I am extremely overstimulated. Background music keeps me leveled and also somehow helps me study even better. I keep it to a low volume and soft songs only so that i don't get tired of the noise which may ruin my want to study

5. Use Stimulating videos.

when I am not reading something but still studying it. I will use videos that have problems in them so that I can get better on trying to solve them. This gives me that "in person" tutoring since i'm not just reading off some book or something which could be excruciatingly boring for me

... Read moreStudying can be particularly challenging for individuals with Audhd due to unique cognitive and sensory processing differences. However, by implementing effective techniques, one can navigate these hurdles more smoothly. One powerful approach is the **Pomodoro Technique**, where you study in bursts of 25-30 minutes, followed by short breaks. This method not only helps manage anxiety but also creates a structured environment conducive to learning. Experimenting with different lengths might unveil what works best for you, as individual preferences vary. Engaging with the material visually can also enhance retention. **Using paper to scribble notes while reading** activates different brain areas, making it easier to remember what you've learned. Go beyond rote memorization—doodle diagrams or write down key concepts in your own words while studying. Another effective method is incorporating **stimulating videos** into your study routine. Platforms like YouTube have countless educational resources that can present complex information in a more accessible and engaging format. This adds variety to your study sessions, helping to maintain interest and focus. **Listening to background music** can serve as an effective tool to reduce cognitive overload. Soft instrumental music or white noise can create an optimal study atmosphere, allowing for better concentration. Exploring various genres can help identify what works best for you—gentle sounds are generally recommended. Finally, don’t forget to break tasks into **smaller sections**. This approach minimizes overwhelm and helps maintain motivation, allowing you to tackle one subject at a time without feeling daunted by the larger goal of studying. Remember, everyone's learning path is unique, so don't hesitate to customize these techniques to fit your needs!

I used to get in trouble for drawing in my notes, but now that I’m a college girlie, I might as well bring it back 😂
