🇸🇬🍊 Introvert CNY Vlog

2/19 Edited to

... Read moreCelebrating Chinese New Year as an introvert in Singapore can be a refreshing experience when you prioritize peace and simplicity. From my own observation and experience, limiting visits to just a couple of houses helps maintain calm and avoid social exhaustion during this traditionally busy period. It’s interesting how weather, especially persistent rain, can reshape plans, just like staying indoors or heading to places like IMM for shelter, which also provides a great shopping or coffee break. One highlight is the annual temple visit, an essential ritual even when the crowd is thinner and the weather less cooperative. Despite the rain, community spirit and cultural heritage shine through as people still enjoy offerings like lucky sweets and traditional vegetarian noodle dishes with generous portions. Something equally satisfying is indulging in small personal treats such as a hot Kenangan Coffee or a new name card holder—little gestures of self-appreciation that add warmth to the celebrations. Fitness routines don’t have to pause either; working out after family meals can be a great way to balance indulgence and well-being. Introducing braided buns as a style statement adds a personal flair to these moments. For introverts, this kind of curated CNY experience—walking the line between social tradition and personal boundaries—not only preserves mental peace but highlights the vibrancy and adaptability of Singaporean festivities. It’s a reminder that celebrating cultural heritage can be both meaningful and comfortable without feeling overwhelming.
